OUR HISTORY

From Relief to Resilience — Building Sustainable Change

At HEALER AID, we believe that real change happens when you look at the whole picture. Poverty, poor health, lack of education, environmental degradation — these challenges don’t exist in isolation. That’s why our approach is integrated, inclusive, and rooted in local wisdom.

Our work begins in the heart of rural and underserved communities. We listen first, understand the real challenges people face, and co-create solutions that are practical, sustainable, and community-driven. Every project we launch aims to heal, empower, and equip — not just for today, but for the long run.

We work across nine interconnected focus areas, aligned with the values embedded in our name: HEALER AID.

THE STEPS

Our Core Areas of Work

Health

We provide essential healthcare access to rural populations, with a focus on preventive care, maternal and child health, nutrition, and mobile health clinics. In areas where medical services are limited or nonexistent, we bring care to the doorstep.

Education

We work to ensure that every child — regardless of background — has the opportunity to learn. From school enrollment drives to community-based learning centers and digital education programs, we aim to eliminate the barriers that keep children out of school.

Agriculture

Through farmer training, sustainable practices, and support for organic and climate-resilient farming, we help rural families improve food security and income. We especially focus on empowering women farmers and reviving traditional knowledge.

Livelihood

We create opportunities for income generation through vocational training, skill development, and micro-enterprise support. By helping individuals gain employable skills, we strengthen families and entire local economies.

Environment

We promote environmental stewardship through tree planting, plastic-free campaigns, and community clean-ups. Our programs also address climate change by building awareness and encouraging sustainable living in rural and peri-urban areas.

Rights and Rural Development

We work to ensure that marginalized communities are aware of and able to exercise their legal rights. This includes access to government schemes, documentation support, and strengthening rural governance structures through local participation.

Awareness and Empowerment

From health and hygiene workshops to gender sensitization and financial literacy, we focus on knowledge as power. We conduct awareness campaigns that help communities take control of their future with informed decisions.

Integrated Development

Every community is unique — and so are its challenges. Our integrated development model brings together multiple interventions under one umbrella to address poverty from every angle, building stronger, self-reliant villages.

Disaster Recovery

When floods, storms, or crises strike, we act quickly — providing relief supplies, safe shelter, and emotional support. But we also stay long after the headlines fade, helping communities rebuild homes, livelihoods, and resilience.

Our work currently focuses on rural and semi-urban regions in West Bengal, where the need is urgent and the potential for transformation is immense. With strong roots in Kolkata, we are actively building partnerships to expand our impact across India in the coming years.
